Hi Leo,
Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed review, and for staying with us these past few years. Feedback this specific is genuinely useful to us, even when it isn't the feedback we were hoping for.
You've picked up on something real. Thym + Coco is built on black pepper and coconut water in the top notes, chamomile, thyme leaf and delicate florals in the heart, and white woods, vanilla bean and amber in the base. Base notes are the ones with the most staying power in a room, which is why the creamier side of the composition is what lingers, while the pepper and the thyme lift off much faster. Morning mist isn't a literal ingredient but an ozonic accord, meant to suggest the feeling of damp air early in the day. In this blend, it sits well underneath the rest.
The format plays a part too. A room mist is designed to change the atmosphere of a room in seconds, unlike a reed diffuser or a candle that release slowly and stay in the background. That immediacy is the whole point of the product, and it does mean the fragrance arrives all at once rather than building gradually.
We put real care into writing descriptions that reflect what's in the bottle, though scent is about as personal as it gets, and the same composition doesn't read the same way from one person to the next. Clearly it didn't land the way we intended for you, and that's worth knowing.
If you'd like something with the herbaceous, sharper profile you're describing, Eucalyptus, Mint & Rosemary may suit you better. It opens on mint, rosemary, peppercorn and clove, with lavender, sage and eucalyptus in the heart, and fresh musk over blonde woods in the base, with nothing sweet underneath. Feel free to write to us at support@sojaco.ca and we'll be glad to help you find the right one.
Warm regards,
Laurence
