SOJA&CO. on Canada's Top Growing Companies 2026
SOJA&CO. is a Canadian home fragrance brand, founded in Montréal in 2018 by Laurence Gaudreau-Pépin. It makes soy wax candles, reed diffusers, mists, soaps, body care and household products by hand.
The company was founded on a gap Ms. Gaudreau-Pépin saw in the market: home fragrance was either complex or clean – rarely both – and much of it stopped at plain vanilla or lavender. SOJA&CO. set out to make fragrances composed like eaux de parfum, in clean formulas, made in Canada. Every scent is developed with a perfume house established in Grasse, France more than 250 years ago, and composed of top, heart and base notes. That same house designs SOJA&CO.'s entire range, so a candle, a soap and a diffuser carry one scent signature through a home.
Every formula is made with the same high standard: vegan, cruelty-free, free of phthalates and parabens. Candles are poured in soy wax with a lead-free, zinc-free cotton wick, in recyclable glass built for a second life. Reed diffusers are alcohol-free and flameless, with a slow release over months. Hand soaps are formulated with coconut and sunflower oils in ten ingredients and are gentle enough for sensitive skin.
SOJA&CO. is a family company, led by Ms. Gaudreau-Pépin as president. Her brother, Benjamin Gaudreau-Pépin, joined early on and is chief financial officer; her partner, Adrien Bourdon, came on as chief operating officer in 2026. The family extends past the executive team: Ms. Gaudreau-Pépin's father, Gilles, is chief development officer, and her mother steps in whenever a space needs a floor plan. Around them, a team of more than 25 people runs production, sales, operations and marketing, with women in the majority of lead roles. The company now operates its own manufacturing facility in Montréal and is entering a phase of production automation, investing in equipment to raise volume.
The company had no retail accounts when it was founded in 2018; today its products are carried in more than 700 retail locations across Canada and the United States, and sold directly through sojaco.ca. Another segment of the business grew alongside the brand: private label, personalized corporate gifting and complete product lines developed for other companies, from brief to packaging.
In 2026, SOJA&CO. appears for the first time on Canada's Top Growing Companies, in the Health Care & Wellness category, on verified three-year revenue growth of 61 per cent.
In April 2025, the company became a Certified B Corp, a third-party assessment of social and environmental performance, governance and transparency. The certification did not change the products, it verified them: woman-founded, family-run, still making its own goods where it started.
Each season brings new fragrance creations alongside the signature scents, and the Advent calendar returns each fall. In January 2027, SOJA&CO. will release its first eau de parfum, developed with the same Grasse perfume house.
Ultimately, what SOJA&CO. makes are rituals. Washing your hands before dinner. Lighting a candle to close the day. Breathing in eucalyptus in the steam of a shower. Ordinary gestures, raised by the attention put into them.
