For Day 2 of our Advent Calendar, we're diving into a fragrance that captures the spirit of the Holidays like nothing else: Atlas Cedar + Spiced Orange.
A warm, comforting blend where:
- top notes: ginger, orange peel, clove
- heart notes: juniper berry, cinnamon leaf, winter berries
- base notes: Atlas cedarwood, tonka bean, vanilla
It smells like a walk in the winter woods, oranges simmering on the stove, and that cozy, woodsy warmth that instantly turns the house into holiday magic.
In short… it smells like Christmas. For real.
And to match this festive vibe, here’s a simple, relaxing DIY:
Make your own Christmas wreath with cedar and dried oranges.
Perfect for a quiet December afternoon — and it will leave your entryway or living room feeling extra warm and festive.

Step 1: Dry Your Oranges at Home 🍊
You’ll need:
-
3 to 4 oranges (navel, blood orange, or even lemons for color variation)
-
A sharp knife
-
A baking sheet + parchment paper
How to:
-
Slice oranges about 0.5 cm thick.
-
Pat them dry to remove excess juice.
-
Lay slices on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
-
Bake at 200°F (95°C) for 2 to 4 hours, flipping occasionally.
-
Let them finish drying at room temperature.
Tip:
If you place them on a rack instead of a baking sheet, they dry even faster!
Step 2: Find Your Cedar (and Greenery)
You’ve got two choices:
Option 1: You live near a forest
Put on your gloves and grab some clippers.
Cut a few branches of cedar, pine, spruce, or balsam fir — they smell amazing, last long, and are perfect for wreaths.
Option 2: You live in the city
Great news: local shops across Québec are stocked with beautiful evergreens right now — support your florist or neighbourhood boutique!
(And they usually have the prettiest varieties!)
Step 3: Gather Your Materials
All of these are super easy to find in Québec — think Omer DeSerres, DeSerres, Boutique d’Artisanat local, or even your favourite neighbourhood craft shop.
-
Wreath base (metal or straw)
-
Green florist wire
-
Ribbon (velvet red or neutral beige for a classic look)
-
Pinecones
-
Cinnamon sticks (optional, but so cute!)
Step 4: Assembly — the fun part
-
Attach your florist wire to the wreath base.
-
Bundle small clusters of cedar and attach them section by section.
-
Add dried orange slices, securing them with wire or a glue gun.
-
Tuck in a few pinecones and cinnamon sticks for texture.
-
Finish with a pretty ribbon to hang your wreath.
And voilà — your home now smells like cedar, warm orange, and winter…
and your wreath adds just the right touch of cozy magic to your holiday décor.
