Hinoki is a Japanese cypress rooted in the forests of Japan for centuries. In perfumery, its wood is known for something that's difficult to describe but immediate to feel: a woody, slightly citrusy, clean and calming scent. Not floral, not sweet. Just nature, at its most pure.
What makes it so precious is the time it requires. Hinoki wood takes 300 years to mature. It's that slow passage of time that gives it its depth, its density, something you simply cannot manufacture.
